Server & Desk Top Support Services

Server & Desk Top Support Services provides Novell Netware®, Microsoft Windows® and Enterprise Virtual Server design, deployment and administration for those servers hosted in the secured, SDDPC data center as well as those servers located at client sites throughout the City of San Diego. Desk Top support services provide support for thousands of City desk top workstations via remote management tools, and dispatched and imbedded support staff.


SDDPC server support provides our customers with industry best practice services that exceed customer expectations. SDDPC also maintains an enterprise level, fully redundant, low cost virtual server environment (VMWare®) which is capable of consolidating many discrete servers into a single, scalable enterprise system.

SDDPC Server Support offers design, deployment and administration for the following server environments:

  • Microsoft Windows®
  • Novell  Netware®
  • Enterprise level Virtual Server systems using VMWare®

SDDPC's Desktop Support services follow industry best practices to address a host of desk top issues utilizing highly skilled and certified staff in order to provide our customers with excellent quality desk top services.  These services include:

  • On-Site and Remote Desktop Support using Altiris®
  • Co-located desktop support staff
  • 2nd and 3rd level SDDPC Help Desk support
  • Dispatched desk top support

Additionally, SDDPC provides secure remote access to published applications using the Citrix® core screen-sharing technology.  Using the Citrix® system, applications can be deployed quickly and at a fraction of the cost of a standard desktop by desktop implementation.  SDDPC also provides remote desktop control, software deployment and patch management using Altiris® and Windows Software Update Services® (WSUS).
